Ryland L. Mitchell, III is one of the three partners who started the firm in March 1977. For approximately six years prior to that time, he was an appraiser with McCurdy Lipman & Associates in Towson. Ryland graduated from the business school of the University of Richmond in 1965 and did graduate work in the field of real estate at the University of Florida. He holds the MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute and the CRE designation of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. Ryland was the partner in charge of the firm’s Silver Spring office, which served the Washington metropolitan area, from 1981 until the firm relocated to Columbia in 1999.
